This policy explains what personal data we collect through the Bachata Week participant app, why we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have. We handle your data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Spanish data-protection law (LOPDGDD).
Bachata Week Cádiz (“we”, “us”) organises Bachata Week Cádiz 2026 and operates this app. For data-protection purposes the data controller is Associació Eledansa, registered in Valencia, Spain. You can reach us about privacy at hello@bachataweek.com.
Depending on how you use the app, we may hold:
We do not sell your data. We use trusted service providers who process it on our behalf, under contract:
Other participants can see the parts of your profile you choose to make visible. The teaching team can see your learning goals and scores for the classes they run. If you publish a public page, the information on that page is visible to anyone on the internet, not only to participants.
You can publish a public page at /people/<your-link>. This is off by default. Nothing is published unless you turn it on, or unless you ask us to set it up for you.
Your public page is separate from your visibility setting inside the app: hiding your profile from other participants does not unpublish your public page, and vice versa.
Some providers process data outside the European Economic Area (for example in the United States). Where they do, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
We keep your data for as long as you take part in the Bachata Week community and want to stay part of it — there’s no fixed expiry. Whenever you ask us to delete your data, we will (see your rights below). The one exception is records we’re legally required to keep for a set period — mainly payment and accounting records — which we retain for as long as the law requires and then delete.
Under GDPR you can:
To exercise any of these, email us at hello@bachataweek.com. You can also complain to the Spanish data-protection authority, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (aepd.es).
Access to the app requires signing in, and personal data is protected by access controls at the database level so you only see what you’re meant to. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and the app working. We don’t use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
The event and this app are intended for adults. If you believe a minor has provided us data without the right consent, contact us and we will remove it.
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed, and we’ll flag any significant changes in the app.
Email us at hello@bachataweek.com and we’ll help.
